Pioneer System is done!

After many years, lots of sales, and purchases, and more sales, I am finally happy (ecstatic) about my Pioneer stack A long journey, over 15 years, but I am finally where I want to be....

The latest acquisition finished this system off perfectly for me - The PL-7L TT

I am of course not going to turn my nose up at a CT-A1 / P-D1 unit....but that is fantasy Ga Ga faery dust land

I am now relaxing by making a Vinyl to tape recording for a fellow TH member on the stack!

Awesome! A Quest that took 15 years, that's quite an attention span in this day and age ;-)

That certainly is a notable quest, Shaun. Nice seeing your Pioneer turntable on the top shelf. At this point, when you have all the components you wished for, there are only the accessories that you might seek out. I still don't have a special pair of vintage Pioneer headphones. Perhaps, a small back-lit sign with the Pioneer logo?

I have a suggestion to prolong your quest. You need one of these:

That is one beautiful set up. I only wish I could have something so nice. This makes me want to take pics of mine and make a post, but mine is nowhere near the awesomeness of this.

Nice rack of gear there! I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks. And 15 years is some dedication.

I just love it when a plan comes together!,,,.Really.. Looking good.!!., Shaun.

I love the way your racks have the flat design frames and the silver finish to keep the synergy of the silver faced gear going. You and Nando both have the best of the Pioneer gear from that golden age of audio. The silver faced stuff, with all the optional equipment, amps, timers, reverb amps, all of it, I drooled in my local audio shop when it was all new.

The dealer sign is really cool. I agree anyone that goes to all the expense and effort to collect the rest of the gear as you both have need's, no,. is required, to have the light up dealer sign as well.! I went the same route with Mc gear, and ended up just like Nando needing the light box. McIntosh's box is a full size matching class face component made for shelf, case, or rack mount as is the rest of the gear.

Just like Nando, I got mine for nothing as well,.. A friend in the business gave me mine. It was given to Gramophone, the store I bought most of my stuff, in the late 80's for their custom high end Mc display room. He got a newer one for the new built in gear display in the high end room and gave me that one about 10 years ago now.

Later on I had posted photos of my old gear room with a wall of built ins displaying it along with my other gear all lit up. Someone offered me 500$ for it 10 years ago now. I almost sold it, until I did some quick research and then found out not only are they rare, they go 1500$ or more when they do pop up, working or not.

Shaun, if you come across the Pioneer lighted display that is nice for what seems like a good price, even a tad bit expensive, get it. The dealer display boxes from the old days are rare and only increase in value, not to mention they finish off the room perfectly.

Congrats on your well deserved IOTW, I suspect you still are not 'done' there is always something else to buy, and something after that.. like sad down a Gopher hole..

[digression] What's that unit with the two meters on the lower-left below the reel to reel deck? An amplifier? What does it do?

My dad's old triple-stack (mid 70s-early 90s) had one (a Toshiba) but I don't think it was hooked up because it never did anything. I remember as a young child that I could turn it off while the other components were on and nothing would happen. [/digression]

Amazing stacks PC. Your commitment gives us newcomers strength. 15 years means that you were not some random guy with a fat wallet, but someone who sacrificed a lot to get there. Well done.

I looked at that yesterday and was quite impressed to say the least. At first glance I thought, all he needs is the timer but alas there it was under the Marantz. Vision Is everything! Quite nice is an understatement~
