Realistic TR-3000

is the realistic tr-3000 just as good as the teac x-300 or x3, what are some of the diffrences. please reply with oppinions and ect.

I always thought Teac made it for RS,from the Teac models you mentioned,I believe the differences are only on the skin-side,they may well be the same chassis under the plastic/skin,just different shapes of buttons and color of the plastic.. Rob

i always thought that because teac was making it for another company they were either putting more quality or less quality into, thats all i wanted to know, and i wanted to know what other people such as yourself though of the machine.

I did own one back when RS just put it out in the catalog (jeeez,what a novel idea...a catalog,with pictures...does anybody do that anymore??)...it was a nice deck,seemed to work fine,wish I had kept it,but sold it many years ago. Rob

This is the machine which became the X-3 after they sold so well that Teac decided to begin selling them as Teacs. Good sounding machine when in nice condition. Weakness is the capstan motor/motor switch. Parts still available new from Teac. Use only Teac drive belts and change them every 3-5 years of use. The X-300 added EE tape capability (I owned one of those from new).

Also the Teac versions are available with optional auto reverse. Designated by the R after the model #.

Radio Shack went to Teac with a design & specs & had them make it exclusivly for Radio Shack. Radio Shack discontinued it after 2 years. After that Teac brought it out under their name & could be gotten with auto-reverse.

got one coming. Scored it off epay for 55 shipped. Sellers claims its working. Lets see what i got for christmas.
