Vintage Sony decks "love" vintage Sony tape, or TDK fare as the next-best. Search here on TC-K670 and you'll find many happy customers, and the method of making the sound better as shown by A.N.T. They are good decks. You should be very happy with that $6 purchase.

Default Best Cassette Decks

My Personal experience:

Nakamichi Dragon
Nakamichi DR-1
Nakamichi BX-300
Pioneer CT-F1250 (When they work they're scary good....)
Pioneer CT-93 (I've had reliability problems with mine and they're even harder to work on than the 1250 is-which is saying something...)

Several Denon DRM's (too much PVC....)

Several Sonys ES's (ditto)

Honorable mention: Pioneer CT-F1000. PB is excellent but it can't bring the goods in record no matter how much you tweak the bias. I've tried......

YMMV! Everybody say hi to El Monte for me. He's seen my setup....
