"Studio/Professional" Cassette Tapes For Multitrack Recorders

Apologies if this topic has been discussed at length already, but I'm curious about what tape manufacturers made "studio grade" cassette tapes - specifically for multitrack recorders? I know of the Maxell MS (XLII Formulation), TDK SM-X (SA-X Formulation), and TDK SM (SA Formulation). Is this all that was ever produced? There's plenty of discussion surrounding the main lines of these and other brands, but what about these professional cassette tapes? Were they of the exact same formulation, and therefore identical in quality? Did other makers besides Maxell and TDK make/market any tape specifically for multitracking?

I have some Maxell MS-90 "Studio Tape" the does'nt sound look or feel any different than my 1992 XLII tapes. The shells seem to be the same and the MS-90 uses the XLII formulation anyway. In fact the MS-90 tapes are noisier when FF and RW than the XLII tapes from the same year.Plus i don't know any Studio that would use these tapes anyway,i think it's just hype.Same for the TDK SM and SM-X same tape and shell as the SA and SA-X just with different printing on the shell.

I agree with analog1964, the tapes seem to behave just about the same as their consumer counterparts. Also they usually have more spaces for information on the Jcard (such as spaces for Source, Deck, Equalization settings and Bias settings). Not to be turned down as these are great tapes (like their consumer counterparts)

Thanks for the responses guys. Are there other makers besides TDK/Maxell?

Not to my knowledge. However it wouldn't surprise me if Denon made one
