In "New jack city", a shelf supporting four decks, all 4 channels models, probably from Tascam and Teac. Three were running. Nice sight!

I'm surprised that nobody has pictures from the X-Files. They used tons of different R2Rs on that program.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (the American version) there is was appears to be a Revox in the background late in the movie in the basement scene when Martin is about to kill Mikael. He turns on music...what a psycho nut job!

PIONEER RT-2022 and John Travolta in the movie Blow out

Uma Thurman and TEAC X2000 in the movie Pulp fiction (before John Travolta enters the scene)

George C. Scott and AKAI (Edit: these are in fact Sony TC-854-4, sorry) in the movie The day of dolphin

It would have been a thrill to be on the set of Day of the Dolfin when all those decks were spinning reels. _

I just need 3 more TC=854-4 machines to recreate that scene. I already have 3 but only one is fully functional at this point.

From "The 12 Monkeys" with Bru Swill Us, Brads Pitt and Christopher's Plummer directed by Monty Pythons Terry Gilliam.

A Telex/Viking/Magnecord 300 and a Pioneer SX-750 deceiver.

Here is a similar deck I own:

I'm going to argue that is NOT a 64x, as there should not be slotted wood on the front of a 64x. I'd make it to be a model 14, or maybe a 1600x. The model 8 looked like that too but the non-slotted strip on the top would be thinner on a model 8, I believe.

For sure it's a mono model with front-mounted speaker though. Newer than the 64x (older models 2,3,4,5 would have a more elaborate cream-colored grill on the front), but can't be a 74b as those were stereo side-mounted speakers. So, one of the mono decks produced between the 8 and the 1600x.

The TEAC thats threaded wrong is a 6010 as the 7010 takes 10.5" reels and the 6010 only up tp 7".

Yes your right its not a 64X and is likely a newer model. The 74B also has the 2 chrome knobs in front of the head cover and this one doesn't.

From the movie "Angel Heart" with Robert De Niro. Was supposed to be set in 1955. The showed this Tandberg that is either a Model 3 or 4. They are hard to tell apart. One is 1/2 track and the other is 4 track. Its not a Model 5 because that model has a DIN socket on the upper head cover. The obvious problem is the spool on the right is from the '70's.

In "U.S. Marshals", they are using a Revox A700 in a scene. There is also a Teac 32-2B and a deck I didn't recognize in another scene.

The deck on the right side looks like a Magnecord 102(2/4)....

Just watched an awful 2013 movie called "Gangster Squad" that was supposedly based on a true story from the late 1940's about LA cops bringing down the mob there. Was done in a surrealistic Batman style with Bru Swill Us type movie violence.
They showed the cops wiretapping the mobsters. The identifiable machines:

Magnecord M75 "Editor"
Webster Chicago model 80 wire recorder
Webster Chicago/Webster 210

The curious thing is the 210 and the M75 both came out in '52 but the movie was set in 1948. Its funny how the Magnecord already looked beat up 4 years before it was even built! The transport could be an earlier PT7A as they look the same but the electronics for that one was different and the one shown is from a PT75.

The first 2 pics are of a Magnecorder PT-6B from a stupid 1958 "B" grade movie meant to be a vehicle for the rock singer Gene Vincent (in 2nd pic). They are using "Irish" reject Ampex tape on it...

This pic is of a Craig 401 in the hands of Telly Savalas in the movie "Fanfare For a Death Scene" from 1964 and was a pilot movie for a TV show called "Stryker" that never made it.

From the pilot episode of the original "Outer Limits" with Cliff Robertson. I had forgotten this show had tons of reel to reel stuff in it.
Here is a Magnecorder PT6 variant. These seem to be the most common models used in old TV series and movies.
Also a punched paper tape reel to reel.
