Reelspin Bias Settings List for Onkyo TA-R301

I recently aqcuired a lovely early 90's Onkyo auto-reverse cassette deck. Does anyone have the list of recording tape bias settings for this model? There's a nice bias adjust knob on there that I would like to put to use if I make any recordings with the deck. Thanks in advance for any info! -Joe Smith

Does that one have the color coded knob? Maybe a photo of an older Onkyo boas knob would do the trick?

No, it's all black and just has a center indent and then + and - from that centerpoint, about 5 negative settings and 5 positive from the center. I can get a photo if it will help...

I have a scan of a different Onkyo bias setting, it was also posted on here in some other thread. You may try searching for that or I can get mine when I get home.

You can find some Onkyo bias settings in one of the manuals on hifiengine. Usually, they're approximately the same for all decks made by Onkyo back in the day.

Thanks!

I printed both of the charts, Scorpion, thanks - will give those a try. And Andrei, thanks also, I will pop over and see if I can find the Onkyo list. This is a nice deck, the transport seems very happy and the auto reverse works well. I am using the deck to transfer some of my aging but beloved Advent cassettes from the 70s to .wav and MP3 files.
