Akihabara Japan 1983 Go Back in Time Here - tinypic 2011 new links

Akihabara Japan 1983 Go Back in Time Here - tinypic 2011 new links
Long Time ago In a Far Away Land of Electroninc's a Salesman took this Picture for me with my Screw-mount camera for me in the room that had the Big Speakers & He also gave me a Cassette { I still have of some popular Japanese Girl singer - sung in half Asain/English }

Hi ! James here; When I was in the US Navy; 1982-1984 I went on a West-pac Cruise Starting January 03 1983 ending in
August 1983 - went lot's of Coutries - Cities, & I was poor then due to payday stakes... anyway
These picture's are from Our Second Port After Hawaii of course and that was Yokosuka Japan.
I Dont remember Who suggested that I go to Akihabara but I went there anyway - then Every day that I could while we were in port.
Anything I seen that I couldn't afford I would take a picture of - and that was pretty Much everything - Except for the Sony 5 - Band EQ - Model number SEQ-50
Stereo Graphic Equalizer Designed for walkman's of which I still have....
These Pictures are in NO Particular order & I had names I gave to them to tell them apart...
Orginal Scanned Pictures are Matte Finish [ therefore not as sharp as they could be ] 4x6 inch Scanned to a Tiff.file then uploaded.

Thumbs up

Wow James! I think everyone here could have spent every dime they had if given the opportunity and a time machine.

Hi James,

Boy, pictures like that don't pop up often enough. Thanks for the step back in time. I can spot a few car audio components in those pictures, I own and, still, have today. I'm going to look even closer, as I have a Panasonic RX-7000, and there are so many different boomboxes that look even larger than it.

Nando.

Well I carry a camera everywhere I go present day & sometime's get caught in store's taking pictures and being run out of the store by the manager - that's only happened a few time's

NEXT time you go AnyWhere Signifacant - like Overseas - Take picture's Like these of the store's and what's inside of them, someday those pic's will might be history to somebody...

p.s. this is similar to watching home movies that nobody wants to see - but If you really think about it - Your Old Pictures - You Might have Somewhere Is of somekind of importance to somebody somewhere

I will have to get the science division Daleks working harder on that time machine.

Wow what amazing photos. I have always wanted to go there but to be honest I can't see it happening.

Thank you for posting these photos.

No - What I need to do Is Sell 99 Percent of them as they have taken over my life for
the past SIX years as I desire to move to something else - Like not having to be around
this stuff all the time and get a life doing something else

Some nice memories for you there James, I like the red Sanyo, I've never seen a Q4 before. I have a black one that's a bit like it. but a completely different model number.

Heres a pic of my Sanyo M7700 with my Sharp GF-999, big and little!

Hi James!

Great vintage photos!

I especially like the wall of boomboxes with the Toshiba WX-1 on it.

That is the money shot!
