Kraftwerk "3-D: The Catalogue" 8 CD Set

Recently received the Kraftwerk "3-D: The Catalogue" 8 disc CD set from the contest here which was pretty cool cause I almost never win ANYTHING. This was my first exposure to Kraftwerk, as well as Kraut Rock, and this is some mighty strange stuff to me. While I can't say I found a new favorite band, there are some things/sounds I find interesting about this. I have never heard a live album before with the complete absence of crowd noise. The first four discs (Autobahn, Radioactivity, Trans Europe Express and The Man-Machine) I listen to more than the others. After The Man Machine it just gets a little too weird for me. After listening to this huge box set I looked into some of their other stuff and found their three earlier albums(Kraftwerk, Kraftwerk 2 and Ralf & Florian). These are a little more to my liking, especially Kraftwerk and Kraftwerk 2. Thanks again for the contest and this really cool prize! I found some new music to check out.

Reading as I sit here enjoying the download that came with my record set. The Mix is supposedly a special CD designed for headphone enjoyment. I'll check into that as that is the only CD I have, just recently received from a friend that sent a bunch of cds my way.

I'm liking what I'm hearing and look forward to enjoying more on the big screen (the main rig) using the prize, the records.

I'm still looking for GeneL's picture in the winners thread. He got em all and it would be neat to see that.

Sorry everyone ...(especially Mark

Sorry for the delay.

I apologize that the pictures I've attached are not from my set, I've been having camera/cell phone problems, so I lifted them off of Amazon.

Thanks again to the good folks at Atlantic and of course Sam.

I've been having a lot of fun playing them, and driving my wife crazy!

I'm liking that book that came with the blu-ray set. Is the box for these the same size as the other boxes?

Also the other boxes (blueray and vinyl) are not the same size.
The blueray box is slightly thicker than the vinyl.

Mark, as mentioned, the box for the blue-ray is thicker to fit the book in.

Now, that the lucky winners have received their gifts, a direct comparison of the three formats may be useful for the unlucky plebeians.
