Reelspin sony tc-765

I have a Sony TC765. I had the issue where the pinch rollers were stuck. Cleaned them really good, removed all the old grease. They freely work now. But I noticed when pressing play, they go up to the capstan and drops back down again. Play light is on, tape is moving. Any suggestions guys. Please help!!!

I had a similar problem after cleaning and relubing the pinch roller actuating mechanism on my TC-765. The problem was caused by the plunger being pulled out of the pinch roller pressure solenoid when I removed the head deck assembly (Part No. X-3551-324-1) to perform the clean and lube job. The parts mentioned are shown on pages 49 and 50 of the TC-765 service manual available for free download from Hifi Engine after registering with them. Also, you indicated that you cleaned up the old grease. It is also important that a quality grease like Lubriplate 105 be used to lubricate the mechanism after cleaning.
