Here in the Twin Cities in MN it was -20 last night wind chills -35 or more and 8 inches of drifting snow. Now what is unusual is this was the first major of the year and only the second of the year. MN not getting snow till Dec. 11th?? Weird.

Two weeks ago it was -7c here in my local area, then a week later it hit +14c, now it is just dank, grey and miserable and +5c

Fairly normal for the cold damp rock in the middle of some very unsociable seas!

we had a good ice storm Saturday morning. Sure made for some beautiful ice covered trees.
the not so beautiful part you may have seen on the news...a 51+ car/truck pileup on I 95 Its an elevated part of the highway just south of Baltimore.
Awful....
Then Sunday it went up to 66 by noon, then 40 by 4 pm.
The weather here is bipolar...

This weather is crazy. By Wednesday, the temp is going to be in the +30's and its suppose to stay that way thru December. Forecast for xmas day is rain with temps near +40. Maybe there is something to climate change.

Temp is +37 with a combo of snow & rain here in the valley. Temps dropping below freezing late this afternoon and the mix will change to snow fall 1" to 3". Just hoping the we don't end up with ice & then a snow cover.

Right now we are sitting at 19 degrees with a prediction of some snow today, but then a bunch of snow for tomorrow. Anywhere from 13-20 inches.

Could get interesting. Like the Christmas Day blizzard of 2010 that dumped 27 inches on us just on Christmas Day. Was at the sister in law's house for festivities, but left at 4:00 pm. My 1969 IH pickup on 33 inch tires was barely able to get us home. On the way, we were passing every imaginable type of vehicle as they were buried or stuck.

Pulled into the driveway and hit a drift that came over the hood and brought us to a halt. We were snowed in for 3 days, before they opened enough roads to get around.

Well, we ended up getting 22 inches of snow Christmas Day. Closed the town down for December 26th (including the mall and all it's stores: bet that just about killed them to do, what with it being the day after Christmas and all). It was so bad, that all the higways and interstates were closed until this morning, when a couple of the main ones opened. Still no travel advised in my town.

Lucky for me, our office closed, so now I have a 5 day Christmas weekend.

woke up to some icy streets this morning. The weather forecasters revised their predictions late Friday that the storm was going to move farther north then they had predicted earlier in the week. As it warms up today (35+) its suppose to turn to rain and the weather guys are calling for all day rain, late until tonight. Fortunately, no snow.
