Pressure Roller Availability In UK

Anyone know of anywhere in the UK that stocks replacement pinch rollers? thinking of giving up on tape decks altogether as the parts are so hard to find, its a real headache.

Do an Ebay search for Pinch Roller, Cassette Pinch Roller, Cassette Deck Pinch Roller or other variations there of.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw...ers&_sacat=293

Not knowing what deck you need them for. If for say a Sony search for Sony Pinch Roller (NOTE: You will have to overlook the R2R ones using this search).

In my Ebay searches I found a seller from AU with various size pinch rollers but they would not ship to the US.

Why do you need new rollers, what do they look like?
You can take them out and lightly sand them, they can be as good as new then.

These are about the only option that will give you good performance:

http://cpc.farnell.com/webapp/wcs/st...pinch%20roller

You could swap the hub over with the orignal deck if it is too wide/narrow

I recently bought myself a goodybag with spare parts that I might need (or not need) from Aswo group. Problem is they only sell to registered companies. (My work is a company...ehrrm)
Their prices makes me laugh at ebay prices (belts for just a few SEK ie. what they should cost), pinch rollers in some standard dimensions etc. Also can supply oem parts for newer decks. I got myself a original Sony pinch roller for a crappy boombox that I try to get life into.

I saw RS components also holds some pinch rollers. Maybe Farnell also can supply them.

Edit: D@mn. Df-genius came first...

Who wants a $605 pinch roller ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAKE-OFFER-A...OrtczROSHUE-Gg
Flippers are everywhere

Charles Hyde & Sons has some great parts too but their website seems down for a long time.

Please do search the TH forum a bit, many answers are just right here.

In google web search type the following: "what i look for" site:tapeheads.net

Check the link below where Alex (A.N.T.) gives some links to CPC UK where you can find good replacement parts for the technics RS-B965.

http://www.tapeheads.net/showpost.ph...97&postcount=3

Note that that take-up pinch roller from CPC UK can be used in Technics decks with the AR-350 series mechanism, for example:
RS-B555/565/655/665/755/765/965/900 and also RS-BX606/626/707/727/808/828, and probably some more.

I used that pinch roller in my RS-B965 with good results. Very good price too.

Cheers,

Daniel

technics pinch rollers hold up well with years of use, every technics machine ive ever bought the roller has been immaculate, however, the same cant be said for JVC they perish like a bastard and go rock hard for some reason must be a different rubber compound.

I recently got signed up to ASWO by being an ex-Charles Hyde customer, it just needs some forms filling in and I said I was a sole trader. Their prices are excellent, I have also found a Sony branded belt from them that works well as the inter-capstan belt on Aiwas - I got an "A" version AD-F770 down to 0.04% WRMS with it which is getting close to spec (and yes it is 4mm wide). I am yet to try it on the later XK decks with different flywheels but will report my findings.

Interesting, I tried to make an Aswo account but they want several things that I don't have (French administrative procedures )

It was easy for me, I emailed saying I was a Charles Hyde customer, they just needed a few details and a scan of a recent utility bill. Perhaps it is worth trying again saying you were a Charles Hyde customer? Here is my Aiwa XK-009 with CHS/Aswo belts, I have tried most of their sizes close to these. The "A" belt also works well as a classic Nak capstan belt
