I have no clue.

I have three old CRT projectors and can live with a 13" quite nicely.

I'll stick with crt. Color accuracy and black levels unbeatable. And they are cheap.

six years ago i went from a 13" panasonic crt to a panasonic hi def front projector with a 108" screen. (now a 84" screen cuz i had to move into a smaller apt.)

WOW! talk about a change, this was a complete lifestyle change! (not quite but almost)

at first, i had 2 scientific atlanta 160gb hdtv dvr/servers from comcast but they got too expensive so i called comcast to come and get them, oct of '07. just watched dvds from a panasonic s77 sd dvd player with hdmi. very good.

sept of '08, went to blu-ray. nicer!

if anyone has the chance to get a hi def front projector/'large' screen combo, go for it!

you won't be sorry.

I bought my 42" LCD last october, The salesman at costco was an engineer, and knew all the techy stuff, my questions were,

What is best for sporting events? Plasma,

What is best for glare?, I have lots of windows and get glare, the answer is LCD.

What is the cheapest and most efficient, at the time Plasma, but LCD has made great strides in using less electricity.

So I bought the LCD because of the glare issue, no need to get a great tv and not be able to see whats on the screen. also if you decide to go with an LCD and you dont want any type of blurring during a sporting event, you should make sure you get a tv with 240 hertz refresh rate, Its about a 1/3 more in price than the basic 120 hertz refresh rate. btw I love the HD Picture. Oh, and make sure its 1080i.

My GF and I agonized over this for quite some time. There are things I like about each technology, and things I don't. Last year, there was unbelivable pricing on a TOL Panasonic plasma that we were going to buy. We looked around at every set, at every dealer, and I looked at reviews and opinions on zillions of sets, and talked to buds that are still in the business. I could have had a Kuro at cost (still have many connections in this business, even though I have been out of it for a long, long time), but that still was _way_ too much money. We narrowed our choice down to either a Samsung or Panasonic plasma, were zeroing in on the Samsung, and then ran across this deal that was just too good to pass up.

Well, we decided to buy the set, called my bud, and.... found out that the pricing went back up (this distributor was selling below standard sheet cost, they had evidently gotten some sort of temporary pricing accommodation from Panasonic) the day before. The price increased over $1000 in one day. No deal!

So we ended up not buying a new set for an entire year. But we finally ended up with a nice Samsung 52" 120Hz LCD with a free BluRay player, for under $1200 out the door.

There's things I love about the set, and things I don't like at all. I decided that since each technology has its good and bad points, that no matter what, I would be unhappy about SOMETHING. But at that price, the choice couldn't have been clearer.

I will say that I like the Sony LCDs better overall than the Samsungs, especially on standard definition material. But an equivalently-sized Sony with the quality level I would have wanted would have been a LOT more money.

And my GF is happy with it (she wouldn't know what to look for to know any difference, anyway), and when she's happy, I'm happy!

After my bulb blew for the second time in 6 months I gave my rear projection to my cousin.

I got a 52 inch Sanyo plasma from Wally world for 800.00 and some. Mine makes adjustments for the light difference. Yes I do still have HD and I love it. I may buy a blu-ray player but I doubt it
My wife just got Avatar today from her company as a gift. Might have to try it out tonight.

Default Sorry, can't help you here...

I have three old CRT projectors, Sony VPH-1044Q, Zenith PRO 880 and Zenith's very frst model from 1985

In order: $50 (replaced a board and it works). $50 (it works) and $25 (it too works).

The home is all-CRT (pretty far from Paradise but no Paradise Power bill$ YET, only Idunno Power in Boise, getting 'wiser' with the smart meters).

Couldn't agree more. I've turned five or six people onto projectors, and not one of them has regretted it. TV, no matter how large, just doesn't compare.

But it's not for everyone.

i still watch some tv on a either a 10" LCD widescreen sdtv or a 19" LCD hdtv flat panel.
just stuff like mash, news, weather, more 'casual' viewing.

for most movies and concerts it's the projector, fer sher!

I must say that I am still partial to my first-production original KV-25XBR.

I have from about 9" to 25" conventional including:

Sony
9" HR-9000U
12" KV-1214
1216
one 1212? in the shed
GV-200 Video 8 Video Walkman
Hitachi
13" CT-1342 An outstanding perfomer, color is gorgeous, was an NTSC DX Wonder on UHF (made November 1985). Seems like a 15" to me, very watchable!
Panasonic
7"? AN-(50)7 Speed-O-Vision (quick start tubed) Needs repair
25" Mom and Dad gave me, stereo with really bad FM and I've never bothered to find the model. They bought a Viera HD model and I found a really nice AV Yamaha of recent vintage with a pair of blue Pioneer 90s minisystem speakers for $25 on Craigslist and give that to them for Christmas.
RCA Victor
19" New Vista that's still going and could outlive the founder of the Nameless Place what gave it to me.
