a new members favorite stuff

Hello! Just saying Hi as I am new here. Just for fun and to see who is interested... I am having a lot of fun with vintage car audio! I started playing with car stereos in the early 80's. Some of my favorite vintage gear i have now includes a Sony Mobile ES XR-C750, Rockford Fosgate RFX8330 and a real find... a fully functional Concord HPL-515.

In my garage I am using a Proton am-300 integrated amp and Nak CR-2A through some newer Klipsch bookshelf speakers.

Howdy & Hi from Rob over here in the Great Pacific Northwest!! Welcome to TH.Car stereo has a small following here,I am a big fan of it,was in the business when I installed and sold Pioneer/Blaupunkt/Clarion and others out of my shop back in 1986.Was in business for 10 years, had a fun time with it,and still have a crapload of brochures on car stereo.Wish I'd stashed away a few NOS car units for future use.I do have a small collection of car stereo's,even a few 8-track decks, and still have a few install kits and other odds & ends laying around from the business.

Man, I used to LOVE my old Concord. It definitely had a really good-sounding cassette section. Welcome to Tapeheads!

Yeah, that's the one. The deck is almost shocking to me for something made around (I believe) 1979-80. Dual preamp outputs (split by freq. range) and selectable center freq. for both bass and treble. And this thing was made a good 2-3 years before 1983 when i had my Kraco Stackmaster that i though was so cool. I had no idea what kind of quality was out there at the time!

Hey Rob, nice to hear from you. Did you ever deal with Clarion's Audia line? I loved my TRX-10 and still have the Audia 7 band passive eq and attachable dbx module, but i don't have anything to hook them up to anymore since my Audia HU died.

Welcome to TH. Thanks for bringing up the Concord car audio gear, they made great sounding units. I had the HPL-550 and used it in two cars.
