Speed question
I posted this under Onkyo since it is the deck I am concerned about. My question is actually about all decks though. Do all decks normally run a tiny bit faster than 1 7/8 IPS? I have reason to suspect that this is so.

Should not. In general, no. Each one is basically cal'ed against a 3kHz signal for speed. Nakdoc will tell you that certain decks (japanese manufacture) were always just a slight bit fast, but I would not say that all of them are.
