Another slimline unit, this time a Sony.

Stuartypoorty!!
That's a right little babe of a deck. I'd want it for the looks alone. It's a refreshing break from the techno-macho USS Enterprise bridge thing that exemplifies most cassette decks - sure it has knobs but... That front plate is thick and meaningful for all those seeking gravitas and severed toes if you drop it; the display is pretty but not quite gawdy (maybe I'm tasteless) and that tape loading tray is seriously retro-cool - like a RX-505.
I'll take 2.

Marc,
I'm quite taken by the styling, refreshing and understated. I especially like the position of the bias and NR switching within the cassette drawer making for an unfussy fascia - if I had the funds it'd be a definite contender.
It is available as we speak, although not cheap for a secondhand Sony albeit a nice example in such good condition, the images having been taken from Ebay.de

I used to spend hours and hours making recordings with friends that enjoyed listening to the same type of high quality sound that I did. Now this was back in the early 80'S. I had this deck for more than 5 years. Never a problem with it. to bad that I had to sell it because I had to relocate to another country. I wish I could get another one like this.

Quite a few were used here by Nashville studios. The light beam meters are wonderful if you've never seen them in action. Transport is solid/typical Sony effort. Ferrite head sound is not my favorite.
