I wonder if it is a psychological thing for me, but when I listen to an mp3 player, it just feels wrong. I have a little Panasonic one that I use for the car (with a cassette adapter) but I can't see hooking it to a receiver. It sounds ok to me (as well as any mp3 can sound) but it's just wrong. *?conf? :-/->

These are pictures of machines that look formidable, complex and sophisticated. They also set me up to expect nice sound from them. I look at my mp3 player and I always expect it to sound like holding music through a phone receiver. (theres some warm midrange for ya lol)

For me, it seems music should come from a good sized box. I don't mind CDs so much when the sound is coming from my large Onkyo changer connected to my vintage sansui receiver. o-o:-)

Thanks for the scans Lady A!! I too could post some interesting scans on a wide variety of audio/video/car stereo and other electronic stuff I have in print form,if,I had the time to sit and feed the scanner for...days!!,possibly I'll do some this fall....Rob
