Stopped by the SA yesterday and they were having an electronics clearance $5.00 for all VCRs and stereos. Anything marked "Stereo" was fair game. I saw the Sony PS-X50 several days ago, not working and marked $22.50. It was complete with Sony VL5 cartridge though. Couldn't pass it up for $5. It does power on but platter will not start unless the TT is in a vertical position:-?. Took one cover off and jammed the contact. Platter spins but speed is off. I'm thinking that there may be a short (or open) in the "Reject" button. Well, I knew it was going to be a project or parts.Too bad all the other stuff was crap. There were two cassettes, a Nak 480 and a Kenwood KX800 that would have been nice if working.

The Nak 480's are good decks and easy to work on. Not TOTL and only 2-head, but it's still a Nak. Not only that, but it'd be well worth grabbing the Nak for either the Sankyo mechanism parts or to offer to another Nak user.

I have a Nak something I bought for $1. Believe it needs an idler. Hard enough to diagnose an track down parts for common components as it is.

If anyone want parts I can always check availability.
