My dad Desinged these speakers some time ago and then he built them. they are made out of solid Birch. and they Use 18" woofers. there a set of Peavey Black widows in them currently. but they sound better with EV 18" drivers.

Wow, very nicely finished! Are you using them? I like the idea of dedicated dual sub-woofers. Did he do anything with internal baffling or sound dampening for the enclosures?

yes, the baffeling inside is built on an angle from the top right corner down to the bottom left corner. for dampining he used 1 inch super compressed inulation. they go way below 30khz. they sound very low.

Looks great. Dual subs is the only way to go, provided you have the space. What is your x-over setting?

i am not really sure about the X-over setting i shall have to ask my dad. they are setup in the living room with the matching towers. and even there, they take up alot of space.

Hi teac3440,
Your dad seems to have a keen interest in custom building speakers. Does he share your same interest in this hobby, especially, the older reel machines?
