i have done some recording and listening with this deck, and i can say with certainty that it is by far the best deck i have ever had the pleasure of owning. recordings from CD, DVD, vinyl and even tape to tape dubs sound virtually transparent to the original. very good mechanism; powerful motors, fast FF/REW, solid build quality with no "pig iron" to speak of. fast, responsive, accurate, easy to use level meters, parallel recording wells, just about every useful feature one can imagine!! this baby is about the best dual well deck anybody could ever want to own!! PIONEER was obviously out to wipe the floor with every one else's dual cassette deck lines in the late '80s!!!!

Yessir, that was one of Pioneer's better offering for a dual-well deck, had impressive features and specs that showed, back in the days when Pioneer cared.I have two Pioneer dual-wells that I'm partial to,the CT-1380WR & CT-W701R.I also have a Sony TC-WE835S that's not too bad a dual well either,it also has Dolby S!!Also a Kenwood KX-W8040 I found in a thrift last month is no "cheap sounding" deck either.*reelspin**reelspin* Rob

i bet that SONY is the same one as i saw on the HOW TO HOOK YOUR CASSETTE DECK TO YOUR PC instructional video included with my MAGIX audio cleaning lag 2004 program. i remember a "Dolby S" decal proudly set on the middle of the front panel...
