Hoo-Ray..Got me a HK

I was lucky enough to come across an Harmon Kardon HK250 so I snatched it up. She's no beauty queen but that's cool as I'm more concerned with function and sound.

I have all the stuff coming to recap this guy. I know there have been several of these rebuilt recently so any help or input for tweeks or ways to improve it will be appreciated.

I was not expecting any tubes with the HK250 when I got it so I was very pleasantly suprised to see all 6 tubes in a box with it. All are branded HK. Two of the 6L6's are grey plates and two are black plates.

I usually forget to get before shots but not this time. Here she is in all her dusty, dirty glory :)

It says 'harmon' and it says 'kardon'. If they made gumballs I'd own a gumball machine.

Thanks for the pictures. I've never heard/seen this amp. I'm so old that something "new" to me is special.

Once its freshened up a bit it should be very decent, do you have any sort of performance specs on it???
The only piece of HK gear i have is a HD7600II CD player from 1991 but at least its the optional champagne colour version and luckily still made in Japan.

Still need to get around to recapping and replacing out of spec resistors on this amp.
