Does anyone here on the forum have any of the boxes with window in the cover that Maxell made for carrying ten tapes.
They came out in the late 70s to early 80s and are metallic silver pleated vinyl covered affairs with a handle.
The box itself can be folded flat if empty for storage as well, and if the answer is no, i have one i can show for a reference.

I'm aware of them, seen pictures. What shape is yours in?
Hey wait, I had one (HAD). Thanks for reminding me!

Ahhh a member who not only had one but remembers the boxes. Its funny how things can simply slip from your mind for all sorts of reasons, I say this because i forgot I had it too
From my recollection they were a 'give a way' if you bought some tapes of a certain number. Mines got age related issues, but not wear/usage related issues.
The clear window is now a tint of yellow and the inside of the box from lack of light has turned a different colour of silver. Other than that its in perfect shape, heres the pics to show its condition.

You have a different one than I did. Mine had a plastic tray for ten casettes and a zippered top. Are you sure this wasn't for a tape care kit with five LN or something?

Nope there was no kit and i've never had any LN tapes either. This one also holds ten cassettes and was available for buying XL or higher model of tapes.
It un-clips by a hidden button seen centred inside on the handle flap in the second pic and folds into a flat piece.
Can you post a photo of your box???

Not unless it's in a box around here or online. It seems to me I got rid of it a few years ago. If perchance it surfaces I will post it post-haste.

Oh, I like that. I'm guessing Maxell gave those away before the all black 10-cassette carrying case with the zipper because the black case seems to be cheaper to make. These black cases were 79-81, my years selling Maxell.

The ten tape carrier was also good for holding the player in place with a few on the bottom, zipper(s) placed to allow the headphone cable to peek out. Get a belt hook keychain fob and hang it on your hip, off you go.
