Bose Acoustimass 5.1

Well I am trying out the Bose speakers(hooked up to the Kenwood components) that I'm going to buy from my brother. I kind of have it set up half-assed in my record room. While I agree that it's not as great as their commercials would have you believe it's not bad as a auxillary setup in a small room. I'm going to have to try moving the subwoofer around because the bass is fairly wimpy. It doesn't seem to have near the oomph of my Boston Acoustic 6.1 system in my bedroom.

Is the sub down or forward firing, it has a port right? Does the cassette deck and cdp work ok? I think you mentioned they'd been sitting for awhile.

The Sub is forward firing. The cd player seemed to play fine. I only got around to testing one of the decks on the tape player and it worked fine.
