Heres a nice retro-throwback to the days of almost-useless-but-awesome and ancillary audio equipment.... The APM-200 Peak & RMS Audio Power Meter by the mighty Realistic brand! Nice LEDs for peak and big ol needles for rms.
Switchable between 200watt and 2watt readings. I used this unit briefly with my vintage Kenwood stack and it was fun. *eyepop*
You can also see part of my 1975 GE black and white TV set. Yes, I also collect vintage TVs. Sorry for the crap pic.

That is cool. How does the source get to the meters... mic's? cables? Just wondering.

Yes I do! I've not layed eyes on that particular one before, much nicer than the usual ones you see on e-bay. I've got the vintage Olson so I can match the meters on any deck, just for something different. Works like a charm.*eyepop*

You know, you COULD make one of these.....
If you had 2 old analog multimeters of the same model, and mounted the meters to a box and lit them.....you could change the sensitivity of them easily to accommodate any input signal, line or speaker-level.
Just a thought.

Is what for sale? The Television or the Meters? Neither are but I can be persuaded...
The meters actually run off of the amplifier! You conect them to the 'B' speaker terminals (or whatever they are called on your model) on your power amp, and the meters measure the output power.
It is interesting to note that many vintage amplifiers are rated conservatively. For instance, I measured my Yamaha CR-600 receiver at 42wpc before clipping. I was using a tone generator running pink noise to do this test. The amp in this Yamaha is rated at 30wpc, 20-20k, 0.1 thd. I know the meters are correct, since I fed em pure sine waves and measured them against my Akai amps meters. No difference.
