Lena Horne, 92: Groundbreaking actress and legendary singer.

Frank Frazetta, 82: Legendary illustratrator famous for fantasy artwork and Conan The Barbarian.

I had just watched a short biography about Lena upon her passing. She was a groundbreaker during her time amongst white singers. And her childhood wasn't the greatest, but she excelled, nevertheless.

But, I hadn't heard of Frazetta's passing. A neighbour, living across the street from my family when I was a teen, was a huge collector of his works. I, even, tried freehanding some of his comics' front pages, as I loved to draw.

I will miss them and remember both of them fondly.

One of the LPs that I have on my office wall has a striking image of the beautiful and talented Lena Horne.

Frank was and is a giant in the fantasy/sci-fi art world. He put that genre on the map. Everyone else after him just copied his work.

Sad day indeed.
Lena was one of a kind.
Frank was a huge influence on the art world and popular culture along with Mr.Crumb to many of my generation.

Fazetta did the artwork for the 1st three Molly Hatchet albums. Killer stuff. Ms. Horne always seemed like a classy lady.
