i dunno, to my experience, what sounds like a $10.000 phono cartridge to one man's ears can quite possibly sound like a YORX boombox to another. all i know is that despite my self-appointed "Pioneer Princess" title, ever since i got my first 1986 model DENON DCD-1500 at a Portland, Ore. salvation army, that CDP grabbed me up in a armlock and hasn't let go since!! i do not have much experience to compare it's sound to, and i honestly only have experience with four CDPs to date, this one being the first and only high-end one. but I DO know that it hasn't let me down yet. i am very proud of it, and to me it is richly possessed of a simply good, robust musical sound...
