Saw your post on TP as well. Those guys aren't going to win the speedy-gonzales award anytime soon. I ordered a Bottlehead Seduction (along with a half-subscription with a friend) as well 2 months back and nothing yet here either.

Love the concept and all but this is getting a bit lengthy and testing my patience. It's almost midway 2008 and they are just now shipping tapes due 2007. That's fine if they are THAT backed up but where are the apologies? Especially for this kind of money.....

Rant over.

I totally know where you are coming from. Heck look how it took for ATR to begin making their tape. For awhile I was stopping just short of calling the whole outfit a hoax. But they did come through in the end. But regardless, they didn't exactly endear themselves to me by their communication. Or rather, the lack of it.

To be fair and in both companies defense, yes. Quality does take time. And some people are willing to wait for said quality of items.

The danger with that attitude is that one should never take for granted that there will always be a ready and willing group waiting to buy your product regardless of how you treat them. That type of business approach will only last so long before many (not all, but many) of your customers say 'to hell with this' and either move on to a competitor or simply outright lose interest in your product. That's another reason why I haven't exactly rushed out to buy ATR tape. It's not that I can't afford it or dig my heels in to the wife and say I'm buying some (hey...I bring home almost two thirds of the family income).

I'm simply taking my time because they made *ME* wait so long. It goes both ways you know. How many years went by with promises of "any time now" without so much as a peep from them or at least updates?

I'm sure that these TP tapes ARE nice if that's your cup of tea. But I don't care how good they are. Someone over there really should step up their PR department a bit. It wouldn't hurt. If a person like ME who HAS no tape business can afford to set up this web site, then surely one of THEM can. And post daily, weekly, or at least monthly updates.

Yeah, I agree. And the worst part is they DO have a pretty nice forum on their site. But the head honcho's don't give many updates with what's going on---especially the last 2-3 weeks.

jcmusic posted on the TP site about a week ago just asking for an update on his tapes. Nobody has replied to him yet. If it were MY forum, I would make damn sure I didn't leave a customers question like that out there for a week with no response. How does that look to the lurkers or others who want to purchase a subscription?

Again, none of this would be an issue for me (well, less of an issue anyhow) if they just put a sticky on the forum that said something like:

"Hello everyone,
We are extremely over-run with business beyond the limitations of our operation. We apologize in advance for these delays. Please phone us at XXX-XXXX to find out exactly where you are in line. We will get to your tapes as soon as humanly possible. Thanks again for supporting the TP, we assure you it will be worth the wait."

Is that asking for too much?

Hi guys in response to both of your post, I agree with both. Their PR dept. should step it up a notch, or at least post on the forum. I have even called yesterday spoke with a very nice lady, she tells me they just got back from their fun thing and are a little slow. Anyway she promised to look into the problem and get back to me, well I still have not heard anything and they are closed for weekend.
