We all know about the big online places, but what about retail sources for cassettes? I've been thru most known stores (WalMart, KMart, Sears, Walgreens, Office Max, Office Depot...) and you can usually pick up the latest versions of XLII or UR tape there, or Sony HF or TDK D.

But what about any retail outlets that carry Fuji tape? Anybody know of any?

The last time I saw Fuji in a store was in Best & Montgomery Wards years ago & those stores are long-gone. Looks like places online like Total Media & tapes.com are your only option for those tapes.

You named them. Around here Target carries Sony HF, Walmart carries Maxell UR and Kmart carries Sony HF, I have also seen some high bias Sony CD-It's at Kmart. Walgreens carries Maxell XLII and TDK D tapes.

The killer is.... (a) a really good record shop in Boise only had a few 2-packs of XLII, and some UR; and (b) the high-end audio shop in Anchorage AK stocks new Betamax tapes, but no cassettes. Riddle me THAT one.

Dunno. But they always have some in stock, and never have any tape of any sort, even XL-II or TDK D. Go figure... But I'd love to know one store that sells Fuji tape retail. Just one.

Our London Drugs here has got to be the last best place to buy tapes- audio or video. For cassettes they still sell Maxell UR and XL-II, Sony HF, and Fuji DR-I and II. For TDK I've seen those D tapes at Canadian Tire.

Actually, I've seen Fuji cassettes at Giant supermarkets here in Pennsylvania: I purchased two 2-packs of DR-1 90s at the Giant in Newport, PA last week. Rite Aid is exclusively Maxell cassettes; I haven't been in a CVS recently to know what they have (they used to sell both Fuji and Maxell.)

That's good to know. I'll be in Delaware in a few weeks and they have Giant supermarkets also. Thanks!
