Anyone have experience with this model? The specs look really good, I was wondering if this carries over to the sonics

The K-04 is close in terms of quality to the K-05. The K-05 is Luxman's best deck.

I believe that 04 has manual calibration of bias and rec level.
Depending on who's evaluating that can be an advantage or disadvantage.
I find manual calibration an advantage and through praxis experience, I find that it's possible to squeeze out more precision in the calibration with manual calibration.
Calibration is not the only thing at stake when comparing two decks, so I couldn't say which is best of the 04 and the 05.
But if manual/automatic calibration is the only difference between the two decks, I would pick the 04.

Your got your 9000 at a fair price then. I probably am the one who ever paid the most for this deck at $1300. With exchange, duty, parts and repair its currently up to $2000. And with more repairs I expect it to go to $3000 by the end of it all.
By the way- how do you like your 9000?

Except for a few small changes, yes.
