With sensitive speakers that little tube amp can and does make most people jump when there is a decent crescendo in the music. I would not call it little, the power supply alone weighs nearly 30kg and has 8 reservoir caps in it the size of beer cans. I don't take the lid off very often even with bleeder resistors this thing has serious power reserve storage.
Have a search for Tannoy 385 HPD Arden. I think these are 60's early 70's jobs. 93db/1m sensitivity. Great match for tube amps for 300B 8W up to solid state amps to 80w or much bigger for headroom. I sometimes run Peter Daniels audio Zone chip amps into the bass cone and the 15W SET home brew into the high frequency Xover. Also run a pair of LCY Ribbon super tweeters that only come in at 16K and above.
Cheers

Whoopsie, Graham, I didn't mean to imply you had a little amp per se, size wise or weight wise, I meant output in watts of course! I think you should post more of the cool stuff ya got down there, even the dangerous one, with enough joules to give folks a new hair-do *devil*

I'll Get my act together soon and post some photos. My camera skills are on par with my spelling so don't expect too much. My stereo room is also fairly dark which does not help either. Is it best to post these sort of things in the user profile section?
