I forgot to mention, when I took the long bus ride to get the Nak the other day I took an old National Geographic, July 2007 infact. I was thrilled to see a piece on Alaska's Great Rain Forest, the Tongass National Forest!! A great read, I also took it as a good omen. A friend of mine years ago, went to Alaska and asked me what I wanted, I told him a rock from anywhere cool. Doesn't have to be pretty, just from a special place. He went up to the Artic Circle and rolled up his pants, waded into the freezing water and reached down and picked up my special rock :-)<- When he returned he said I got you this as well: see below.

Cool story. I was in Fairbanks for a military conference years ago with some other officers and we all had one single goal: as soon as the conference ended for the day we grabbed the SUV and headed up the haul road towards the North Slope. There's a sign at the Arctic Circle where you cross that imaginary line. So we stopped, waited and at exactly midnight, with a full sun in the sky, we got our pictures taken holding a watch visible for all to see. That was one of the periods of constant daylight. I'll have to find that. He was probably at the same turnoff that we were.
Man, the truckers haul-arse over that haul-road going north and it's mostly rip-rap crushed gravel. The carcasses of shredded tires line many of the ditches.

I can only hope that 1) The poster of that explains the meaning behind it REAL soon, and 2) makes a coherent posting of some kind. Also, real soon. I know I encourage everyone here to speak freely. But that does not include mysterious "fortune cookie" one liners embedded within a bunch of garbled symbols and links to who-knows-where.

Agreed. I saw absolutely nothing meaningful or even entertaining in that post. OP posted them and logged off. It's gone.

Don't think that's asking much.

I agree. Tthe post could be as silly as one wants, but some gibberish and links to another site ring up to spam in my book.
