Here's my Akai R2R. Somehow a black sheep of the R2R family. Not a high-end deck, but for a novice it is a good start. It has 3,75 and 7,5 inch/sec., but only takes 7 inch reels. Mine is almost in mint condition, rarely used but checked and serviced. It was a backup deck of some Revox machines, used in my town theatre. Before it retired it had a short appearance in a Hungarian tv serial :)

Awesome! Any Akai deck (IMHO) is a thing of beauty. And this one was famous too ta boot! You should use it more often.
