Any love for these old 1/2 tracks out there. Built like mack trucks with the omega tape path like the ATR60's. My brother picked up a pair of them for me in Melbourne and was winging about the weight..he reckoned 35kg each....nah that cant be right. Not game to freight these so a boat trip to Melbourne on the roll on roll around all night in Bass Strait roll off on the other end is on with the ol shitbox mitsubishi Verandah. Shit then gotta roll back. Also got a commercial DBX 180A box with these.
Anyone got any literature on the 52's? Info is pretty scare even in the Tascam forum group.

Hi Gamve,
What is it that you would like to know about these?
I can send you a select few pages of manual if you need but the whole thing- service manual would be a task. Best to request one from Stereo Manuals.com
I am pretty familiar with these as I have a few of them too. Good going getting such a nice machine. I think one is in route to me now for repair.

The 52 is a damn nice machine! I have a 42B...not as nice as yours but still built like a tank. Lots of stuff available still for these, including service manuals. I'd give Teac/Tascam a call.

Thanks Guys,
Have not had a chance to inspect or test them yet. The photos looked like they were in good nick and the guy who sadly has passed away was a real tapenut. He must have had 30 odd machines for sale and a ton of old tape. I was lucky enough to get these before any of the machines went to Ebay
