I don't see any major heading on one of the major contributors to the Cassette industry, Technics*fit*

It is hidden in the Others (http://www.tapeheads.net/forumdisplay.php?f=88) section. Thought I would agree that Technics with at least 10 threads deserves a separate section more than Kenwood with only 3 threads in its section *wink*.

I have 4 Technics to come to think of it. Two twins, a RS-TR333 and a RS-TR373. Two single well units, a RS-B105 and a RS-AZ7.

All of them are pretty sold units - the two twins need some TLC though.

Cheers - MH

I currently have one Technics cassette deck a dual well RS-TR373. I found it at a thrift shop for around $10 and it followed me home. *grin*

No, there is no Technics forum in the Cassettes section, only in the Reel to Reel.

And I have now 5 Technics decks - RS-M02, RS-M85 (two), RS-M88, RS-M253. It would be nice to have a section for Technics cassette decks too.

The RS-M253 was my 1st deck. I have some fond memories of that deck and some great tapes from it too. Sadly I sold it years ago.

Bad boy of the cassette world!

$370 I would say is reasonable amount of money given the condition and the rarity of this machine. Indeed this is a rare beast , this model shows up at most once per year on Ebay; this particular specimen is in marvelous cosmetic condition as far as I could see. Nice! Had I have the money I would get it .

My Technics RS-276US was a well done, superb, heavy deck that lasted me from 1971 to this year when I sold it, working great. The only issue I had with it was it's violent tape ejection.*eyepop*, Chuck

There are two other RS-9900 that sold recently on ebay:
This for $1237 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110469401791&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT)
and this for $1350 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320444999217&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT)

I bought mine last year for a moderate $450. I would say this comes up on ebay almost once a month, sometimes missing the cables.

I can say that the transport of the RS-9900 has earned my respect when I discovered that it was the only one to be able to properly play back certain problematic tapes that would have the take up spool stall when tried on a few others, including two Revox decks, a B215 and a B710MkII.

And I have not yet replaced the "temporary" rubber bands for the spool reels on mine...

It's about time Technics had its own section. I used 'em back then and I use 'em now.
