For last few months I've tried to resist any temptation to increase the size of my cassette deck collection (at the moment around 40 decks). However I could not resist this little thing, which cost new in 1979 more than a contemporary Sony TC-K81. It has arrived to my doorstep this morning from Germany, in a pristine condition for its age and fully working. Very cute and a nice sound to boot. Direct drive mechanics from RS-M85 in a very small package.

An awesome undertaking, but doomed to failure. The bug doesn't release it's grip that easily. This is a sweet find. *thumbsup*

I have the RSM 218. A real workhorse.

Love this deck and would snap up a "K" version in black in a moment. This mini series from Technics was quite special. I have a few pieces and they're beautifully built using aluminium panels rather than the usual pressed steel. Gold plating on all the sockets too, which was unusual for the '70s.
I think it would be a great partner for my RS-M85. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, I missed this post, what a cool little rig! Toshiba made some great mini systems as well. That's a keeper!
