A change to the cassette brand subforums has been implemented. The old category for Bang & Olufson has been closed. In its place, I have created a new category by request, for Kenwood.

Rather than go through the trouble to create an entirely new forum, I looked to see if I could use an existing one. Of all the cassette forums, the B+O section had just TWO topics, the last having been posted back in March.

Those two discussions were dumped into the "general" cassette discussion.

Well, if you're taking requests then lets have a Technics forum too.

Not a bad idea

The old category for Bang & Olufson has been closed.

That makes sense. B&O has only one quality deck - Beocord 9000 which does not warant it's own category.
How 'bout Hitachi/LoD ? Doesn't it deserve a category as well ? I see some folks have chosen as avatars Hitachi combination heads so the brand surely is influential :-)

BTW, in the famous Japanese website
http://www.niji.or.jp/home/k-nisi/
which displays the best Japanese tape decks ever
there are displayed 6 Hitachi decks:
LoD-2200 LoD-5500 LoD-DX10 LoD-4500 LoD-D150 LoD-909

Even Aurex/Toshiba has more high end cassette decks than Kenwood!

Cheers,
Dimitar

Yes, since changes are considered, me too was thinking it's strange not to have a Technics cassette subforum.

On the other hand, I find the break down in subforums to be distracting. Too many forums and several interesting postings can go unnoticed if you don't go through each subforum individually, pretty tedious. And the New Posts shortcut only goes 1 or 2 days back.

When I first joined up, I somtimes wondered why there is not a separate forum under the TAPE AND TAPING section for COMPACT CASSETTES and CASSETTE DECKS, each separately broken down by manufacturer?

However, I've gotten used to the way it is and enjoy the BLANK TAPE forum. maybe its better to have all blank-tape related topics in one like that, it does make it oversightful. Plus, I bet it would be quite the nightmare to try to reorganize the BLANK TAPE forum by cassette manufacturer...
