Well the old 87 Town Car has 204000 on it, and Because I,ve been out of work so long I,ve had to nurse this Grand Old Lady for a while but when I look at what I,ve spent to keep her in dependable condition,,at least a 1000.00 this year alone, I figure it Might be time for something a little more current,,I,m still a rear wheel drive guy and still prefer to stay with American Made Product,so my choices are limited,,any suggestions or ideas

I drove a 95 Roadmaster with the LT! corvette in it and was surprised on how cheaply it was made, a Caddy Brougham would be a little better but trying to find a nice one in Minnesota is impossible,,I,m looking at a 98 Lincoln Signature Series with 85k tommorrow after work, guys asking 5 grand for it, sounds a bit steep but we,ll see

The new and slightly older Mustangs are nice cars. The V6s are pretty peppy too. Im a Mustang guy myself, but have resorted to driving a Mazda ever since the ol '81 Stang kept needing to be fed money in both parts, repair, and gas. I was getting 200km on a tank of gas, so it had to go. The newer ones are better.

87 Town Car? Man, that's a land yacht! I picked up a Ford Contour to drive to work just to save on gas. Front wheel drive, but great little cars and quite spiffy. My Dodge Ram 1500 now is a weekender.

Well maybe just a Lucky move but anybody familier with the 4.6 litre Ford Engines Knows there good motors but Have 1 problem,,,the freakin plastic intake manifolds,,they crack,,, Ford got Sued over replacing the manifolds after the warranty period for flleet customers and screwing the consumer and lost,,any way when i bought my newer town car I allready figured I,d have to replace the intake so I negotiated it in the price and turned the car over to my tech to replace it BEFORE it went Bad,, so I get a call today and my tech told me the manifold was allready staring to seep and I was lucky I decided to replace it when i did,,

Good catch.
It's always cheaper to replace before it needs it.
Saves on tow bills and frustration later.

6-cylinder
24 valves
260 bhp (191 kW) @ 6.200 rpm.
Torque: 322 Nm @ 4.500 rpm.
Driving better than most US cars...............just like the best R2R sounds better compared to 64kb/s mp2 files.

Then try to imagine that of the basic price of the car from the factory, here in Denmark we pay 180% tax on top AND THEN we pay EXTRA 25% tax of the whole amount.
Beat that!
Damn, I wish those taxes here were gone....................on our income we pay somewhere close to 50% tax.
And then we pay 25% tax on all shopping.
Anyway..................
I had the Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon for some years.
Love that car.
You can not expect a platonic ownership with that car.
There are feelings in between here.
If you choose Alfa, you will soon get the problem that you don't have time enough.
You won't have time for your friends or family because the best drive in the Alfa will always be the next one.
You will figure out that, even though the shortest distance between A and B is a straight line, You never find yourself driving on that line.
You just have pass by C, D and E and check out F and G, not to mention those twisty and hilly small roads in the local area to plan next weekends drive.
You have to have tried it to understand.
When you have driven it, you will even spend and waste time trying to explain this to any third part.
An Alfa Romeo you don't posses, you have an affair with it.

Alfa's rule however, you can't use them in the US. They don't get fixed properly when the 'affair' goes south, they were run out of our market for shoddy build quality and even worse dealer back-up. I'd take the new Brevia in a heartbeat. Des's pic of the '76 Ford wagon proves you need some metal around ya in a serious accident! Ford twin-I-beam suspension parts doubling as door beams saves lives :D:D
