I'm having hell of a job trying to change the main belt on a Marantz SD4000.

It's doin ma head in!! *fit*

I can't get the screws off the metal plate blocking the main wheel, they are completely welded on ,tried removing the motor to get round the back of the big wheel. Nothing doin.

Anybody else had these problems, what did you do to sort it out, short of throwing the whole unit through your neighbours window.*eyepop**devil*

Ok strange as this sounds, when I get a frozen screw I use a small spring loaded center punch and give it a couple of applications,,the impact seems to help frozen screws with out any risk of stripping the slots,,I also have a small impact screwdriver but have never had to use it

A good suggestion. Sometimes they use a glue to hold critical screws sort of like ThreadLok. Give FF's idea a try.
