Hi, I am desperate for an XK-S7000 Operators Manual (User Giude). Can anyone help with/supply an original copy or provide reasonable quality scans? Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks.

What exactly are you wondering about in using your deck? I have the 9000.

If you do acquire a digital copy, please let us know. I have an XK-S7000 as well but only have the 9000 manual.

Sorry for the long delay (working off-shore). I was wandering about the functionality/use of the "B Rec" button?

Thanks for the reply, if I get a copy I will. Any chance of a digital copy of your 9000 manual?

It is for recording on a blank tape. If you use it, the erase head is switched off and it apparently may improve the quality with some tapes.

The B record without the erase head does work and it does give a slight increase in level/saturation = supposedly better quality recording. Be careful using it if you have used calibration on the tape as the tones will still be there...learn't that the hard way. It also pays to check that the blank tape is indeed blank. Poorly stored tapes or tapes that have been exposed to a magnetic field will sometimes have a swirling or swooshing low level background noise that is bloody annoying in low level music passages or between tracks. This anomaly is of cause removed when normal recording mode has the erase head in circuit.
