Well...I don't remember who it was,but someone here was talking about the good old days and Sony cassette tapes,so here's some that I have,I don't have any to spare,so don't worry,I won't be getting rid of these.Thought they looked nice in their retail wrapping....ah yes...to dream and imagine what it was like to walk into a store and buy a box of 10 of any of these Sony beauties!! *reelspin**reelspin* Rob

I was a Maxell fan but I liked their Metal Masters.
There are some of their CD-It in my collection also.

Hey Braxus!!Does a full house beat a flush?? Nice tapes you have there,I have ALWAYS liked Sony's,especially their retail wrappings. It's almost a crime to "undress" them and use them!! Rob

If you can get your hands on a duplicating machine, could you make me about 100 of the Sony UX & UX Pro 90 minute cassettes? I'd appreciate it.

Geez, we can put a man on the moon but haven't created a duplicating machine yet? That's proposterous!

C'mon guys, isn't keeping tapes under wraps a bit like putting a woman on a pedestal (suspect analogy granted) - i.e. you rarely knock them off!

I will be honest.

Sony is the brand disapointing me the most when it comes to tapes.

In particular their Chrome serieses, bought many different places over many years, showed out to have so many drop outs.

I was actualy starting to wonder: If Sony makes so bad tapes, what does that tell me about their ability to make machines for playing them?

Well, I had a few Sony R2R's and Cassette decks.
They didn't realy give me trouble but none of them had quality to be keepers.

I still have some of Sony's Metal tapes.
They have a slightly higher tendency to be faulty than my other tapes. Say 1:6 while other brands in general have 1:15 maybe sometimes 1:30 (Scotch and Maxell)

I just have it in mind when i Purchase.

I'm not realy keeping my tapes in wrapping.
I use them.
Never collecting them but this forum made me consider that.

it just makes perfect sense to put together a sealed collection like that. that should be a priority for us all. when we are done, THEN we can go after duplicates to use. remember, the supply is thinning all the time, and when it finally runs dry, those of us with these magnificent sealed collections will be very proud and grateful to have a collection that is beautiful and will likely eventually be worth a small fortune...

All I can say is I've spent a small fortune buying those shadow box frames and the tapes that went into them.

Oh don't get us wrong Braxus, those are really nice looking displays for your blank cassettes, and you have to admit, the tape companies surely did intice us to buy their brand by putting the blank tapes in such beautiful wrappings....it's such a shame we have to destroy them to just get to the cassettes themselves!!!
