Thanks guys. Wow with Stuwee-our designated birthday announcer being MIA, who wants to fill in for him until he gets his affairs back in order and decides to rejoin us?

Anyway, my 36th was pretty uneventful. It was spent here at home. Mom came down from Fresno and made me my favorite home-made fried chicken with all the fixins' for my birthday meal. Old recipe, one of my favorites. Also, she made me a from-scratch yellow cake w/ chocolate frosting. It is to die for. None of that Betty Crocker canned crap. She also made that from scratch using real cocoa powder, egg whites, powdered sugar, and whatever else she puts in that concoction.

The girls Rachel and Annalyn spent much of the day here from when they spent the night on Friday. Then Caleb came over and hung out too as did their mother when she came to get them.

And of course got a bunch of phone calls. But apart from that, was a quiet uneventful day. I had a beer after the kids were gone.

Mrs Des asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I told her nothing. There's nothing that I *really* want right now and I wasn't going to buy something just for the sake of buying something. Instead, we took those funds and rolled them into our Christmas funds, where instead, we will be enjoying our very first Christmas in our new home in style.
