For people here who have dual decks, I have a question. Im aware many of these decks have double speed/ high speed dubbing. Does this switch activate at all times or only when recording? I ask because is it possible to record from the analog inputs a source to record onto tape, and use the double speed function? It would be cool to be able to record at a faster speed and then play it back at high speed. We all know what faster speeds do to the fidelity of tapes.

Anyone?

On my Sony TC-WR535, it's a switch you select when you're dubbing tapes. You can't playback at that speed, only dub. However, quite a few of the decks currently being made have pitch-control on them.

Nope, the dubbing speeds are fixed to the dubbing process,no way to control speed during normal playback. You need one of those new/old fangled decks by BIC,or Marantz made them too...and somebody else made 2-speed decks...was it ...Teac?? Rob

OK. Thanks guys. Its what I thought. It was worth asking though. Yes the BIC T4M would be my choice of a high speed deck. Too bad I have too many decks as is.
