Well folks. Here it is as promised. The first Tapeheads.Net "Name Those Tunes" contest as an opportunity to win some tapes. For those of you who saw the announcement here: http://www.tapeheads.net/showthread.php?t=455
-you should know the drill and rules. But for sake of courtesy and continuity, I will post them one more time. PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL RULES BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THE CONTEST
1. The contest will consist of 11 (eleven) video clips of a song playing. One song will be an "instant win": First person to identify the artist and title of it will win their choice of prizes shown. The next seven clips will be the "main" contest. First person to correctly identify the artist and title of ALL SEVEN of those songs can also claim a win to any one item. And the last three clips will be "Bonus" songs: If someone wins the main round of all seven songs, they can claim an additional prize for any one or all three of each bonus song correctly identified. Let me again reiterate: the bonus songs cannot be used to win prizes unless you win the main round of songs 1-7.
2. The time limit on the contest will be twenty four hours (one calendar day) from the timestamp shown on the initial contest post, or whenever all available winnings have been claimed. Whichever comes first.
3. All entries and responses to the contest MUST be posted in the form of a public response to the contest post. Entries submitted via e-mail, private message, or hidden message will not be eligible to win; regardless of their accuracy.
4. I am the sole judge of this contest and my decisions will be final. I reserve the right to prematurely cancel the contest and/or refuse to award prizes if I have reasonable cause to suspect cheating-including-but not limited to-posting the links in other forums and the poster asking other board participants to identify the songs for you. This contest will be honest and fair. And I expect all participants to play accordingly: a test of your own existing musical expertise. I am also asking that you please do not post the "numbers" that you know (e.g. "I only know #1, #4, and bonus #1"). The reason for that should be obvious. It would be too easy for some folks to collude and try and 'pool' their musical knowledge and split the prizes via PM. If I see any of that going on, at the very least, anyone involved will be disqualified and at worst, the contest cancelled. I am not saying any of you WOULD, but neither do I want to leave that possibility open. This contest is meant to be a test of your own pre-existing musical knowledge. Please do not spoil it for others (and for the future) by cheating and trying to win items you otherwise don't deserve as per the rules and spirit of the contest.
5. It is strongly recommended that you do not post 'partial' replies. If you don't know more than...say...four of the songs, just SAY that you "only know four songs". Do not help someone else possibly claim a win they might otherwise not deserve by posting only partial responses. They can then take your answers, combine them with others, and their own and claim victory-even though they may not have legititmately known every song.
Beyond the above two reply restrictions, you are feel free to post any other relevant commentary (i.e. 'that was hard' or 'that was fun' or what have you).
6. Possible 'win' scenarios:
Number of possible items to be won: 5
Number of possible winners: 2 (1 instant win song + main round and the bonus songs)
Number of possible winnings allocation: 1 person=one item + 1 person=1-4 items or 1 person=all 5 possible prizes
6. Prizes are awarded first come-first served. If you are confident that you know something to win, please be sure to include your prize choice(s) in the body of your reply.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
And now, here is the pool of prizes that you are all competing for:
