Following another thread, I'd thought I'd post for reference a page from RM Pro Audio in San Fransisco their price list from 2003. This is to show what tape prices were going for in 2003, so we can compare to what they are going for now. I'd thought it would be interesting to freeze a piece of history for future reference and others to look at, as soon one day this type of history will be gone. Its interesting to see what was available then at what prices. Things sure have changed.

Until someone can produce documentation of a recently completed, fully satisfactory transaction from that site *AT THOSE PRICES*, I still call the site suspect at best. Not saying they are a phony. But neither would I recommend you all break out your credit cards. Is there any TH'er or one that knows someone who is in the Bay Area that can go visually check them out?

We all saw the heads up posted in another discussion and we all agreed that there were simply too many loose ends to consider this outlet a 'score'.

In the meantime, I would still say that the old Stereo Review scans are a far superior and legitimate indicator of past prices. Though it should be noted that most prices listed in SR were full 'list' prices. The actual 'walk-away' retail figures were generally anywhere from 10 to 30% lower than what was published.

Matt I've phoned them and they seem legit, plus that price list was from 2003. I would doubt they would have the same prices on the tapes they carry today. Most of what's on their list from then they don't have now.

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks, after I get my boxes of TDK SM-90's.
