Vintage Marantz SD-3000

Picked up a Vintage marantz SD-3000 with 2 speed option. deck sounds awsome. could i have some oppinions of where this deck sits on the line. it is a very clean looking deck, not cluttered with much crap. advice and oppinions aregreatfull. thank you.

I had one of these when I was a student.

Very nice tight warm sound, the bass was awesome. Loved the LED meters as well.

2 head, sendust or permalloy heads cant quite remember, build quality was really good, loved the solid feel of the controls

Not top of the line but stll a very good deck and a nice looker to boot. Good score. Wanna sell it to me?*grin*

I have that deck too and its an amazing deck especially at 3 3/4 ips. i believe its on the lower end of their range but you would be hard pressed believing it considering the excellent recording quality :) i have seen an SD 4000 and then theres the top of the line SD9000/9000dbx/9020. I've got the SD 9000 in repairs atm, looking forward for that to arrive home :)
