Well fellas, I decided to rotate turntables today. I pulled the Garrard 630S out of storage and set it up for main system duty. Did some clean up, lube and VTF adjustments and I think we're ready to go...

Testing it out with a little Cannonball Adderley Live at "The Club".

Hi Mike,
Lots of beef in those older changers. Do you stack any LPs when you're playing some of the nostalgic tunes? The Pickering cartridge was OEM for the Garrard 630S, right? The tinted dust cover and wood base reminds me of a similar vintage Pioneer turntable, I had viewed at a vintage stereo store.

Hey Nando!
I haven't tried stacking yet. As a matter of fact I have two other changers - a mild custom Garrard Lab 80 and a ELAC Miracord 10 with a hand built cabinet - and I still haven't tried stacking any records yet.
You're right about the Pickering, it was OEM for the 630S. The 630, unfortunately, is more of a plasticky build but it can still be made to sound VERY good (at least to my ears). Now my Lab 80 and ELAC 10 - they are built like TANKS! *yes*
