Emtec CR II cassettes

I have an opportunity to get 2 boxes of these, 60 minute, for about $40. They're type II and I believe Emtec is what became of BASF. Has anyone tried these tapes? Are the any better than the Akai GX-60? If not, I can get 5 boxes of the Akai cheaper than these 2 boxes of CR II. I might still get a box, just to add to my inventory.

Thats a very good tape - quiet and dynamic as a result. I', assuming that that is the one you have an option on.. I got a case a few years ago at a reasonable price and was impressed.

I would venture that you will not be disappointed although have not tried a Akai GX and therefore cannot compare.

Clear shell, right?
