First off I never knew they made a double (back to back) Walkman, and then that one would bring so much. Yikes! Anyone here get this?

Sorry...I can only drool at it from a distance *drool**fit*...coooool little deck, possibly the world's smallest dubbing deck?? Of course I could always super-glue 2 of my walkmans together,back-to-back and rewire them to work like this one....but this walkman is way nicer!! Rob

That's a corker of a little unit, not surprised by the price though.
A NOS special edition of the WM-EX808HG walkman that I have eventually sold for around £330! on the 'bay last year, only difference AFAIK being a Sony wooden presentation case.
I have an inkling that, asides from Sony, Aiwa may have produced a dual walkman deck. If anyone knows it'd be forum member NGAHUN.

To rich for my blood. Though that is a nice walkman as not only does it have the way cool dual deck feature but it also has Dolby NR & CrO2/Metal!!!*Hi5*
A huge + in my book.

A good place to find out about this walkman's history would be Stereo2go.com
Look for member AgentOrange. I think he knows more about Sony & Aiwa walkmen than anyone on the planet.
I'll start a thread there and post a link to that auction as well.

Well, that didn't take long... here's the response I got back from AO:
The dear old WM-800. More fun than good, basically this is two WM-10 mechanisms back-to-back. It's a great novelty item but recording quality (from mic & tape to tape is pretty basic).
Not that rare, don't pay more than $50 for a black one. They often have cracked screens/cases. Red & Blue units are very rare.

Apparently, there was a Panasonic double decker walkman, too....

Well, then somebody overpaid begtime in that auction unless it was a "must have" for their collection.
