That is one big hunk of 8-track love... That's for sure!! I think Ampex made something similiar if I recall correctly, but it had a cassette deck. Rob

Its a Sears unit Model 171.32780200. Everything worked with the exception of the 8 track, motor turned but tape won't move. Tore down did a good capstan cleaning and recondition and away it went. :) Everything now works like a drean. This difinately doesn't qualify as a portable, must weight 40 lbs.

I'm afraid Olde Leroy isn't running, have to get a new fuel pump for it. Might get it going this summer, not real sure. That is a big unit, 8 track player is a heavy duty one, made in Japan but still a quaility player. record player is a BSR table which is very common in that time frame. Very easy to find a needle for though. We will get down there some day and have that cup of coffee, glad to see you made it over here to Tapeheads, good people. There has been a lot of traffic on 8 track heaven lately with that new 8 track release by Cheap trick. Did you order one, at this time I haven't but probably will at some time. Have a great week Eugene, good talking to you.
