Not a bad deal, though they are used. Hopefully the J cards haven't been written on and the stickers still available- or I'd pass. Also these are the second generation MA-XG and are not as good as the old ones that Lady Ayeka has posted in here signature.

This is a sign friends and neighbors, the world has caught on to the tape buzz!! start your War Chests full of money Now! This is the first of many collections to come. *devil* *stirpot* *twocents**quiet*

I know they're supposed to be really great tapes but that seems like a lot to ask considering that they're used.

That's $15 per cassette. I'll just be watching to see if and how fast they sell at that price. My guess is it won't be quick at that location.... and that he would do better on the bay.

I'm more concerned about permanent damage to those lovely tapes, the ghost's of Kenny and Lionel and Hank Jr. printing through while I listen to some nice Bach or Rachmaninov or Mozart.*bang* That would not be pleasant.

I agree they may sit for awhile, but, if they go anywhere near the asking $$, collections are gonna start coming out of the woodwork, I was sayin' this back when Matt was on AK.
And I also said, "who cares IMO, if they have been recorded on", I've got a couple I've rerecorded many times and I don't hear a diff
That's just me,YMMV

A good bulk eraser would remove any of those artists that give you the willies! Sure metal is more difficult to erase but I've not heard any remnants left on my metal's after bulk erasing and re-recording on my Nak's. Have you encountered that issue before?

Before this site was started, I sold 4 metal used tapes on Ebay for only $7.99! 3 were Sony SR-90, one was some 100 minute Denon.

Yeah, especially since you could buy 140 boxes Akai GX-90 for that price!

You got me, literally, No I haven't had a problem with that, my just being grossed out by the use of those uber nice tapes for "willie" making music, whatever floats their boat, as folks say.

I actually was going to ask about the erase thing, since I'm just getting back into all this, I've heard that you either need a good bulk eraser or a nice deck to rerecord metals. Since I'm going to get one of the LUX's recording soon and I just found my hoard case with long forgotten metals in it, I don't know if the Lux's are up to the erase part, I guess I'll just have to find out. *devil* *reelspin* *reelspin*

hey stewster! my lowly PIONEER CT-W600R Dual Well can erase metals just fine! hell, even my first ever deck, a junky cabinet system CT-980W could! don't sweat it, i believe you'd have to have a pretty damned crapola deck before you'd actually have to start worrying about thato-o:-)!!

For what it's worth I've already successfully erased a metal tape with a regular tape eraser, though it took a few sessions and eventually overheated my eraser, causing it to shut off for a while. In the end the metal tape wasn't 100% erased, if you turned up the volume very high you could slightly hear music fading in and out, but I recorded over it and it sounds fine. My point is that you don't need a bulk eraser - though erasing all those tapes, that would be a big task.
