It's going to:
close652 in Hungary this week probably 7/15/08
Arrived 7/24/08

Then off to Merry ol England to Stuartypoorty, after close652 is done. Then???

Just a reminder, this is for listening and copying from only. I'll send it in a generic tape box, if it gets cracked, no worries mates! I'll send a sheet with artist and title if I remember what the songs are, this music and the tape are over 20+ years old, some of this music I no longer have. If you don't care for the music that's cool, it's for folks to get a handle on the sound. Please also remember, I was a noob with a nice deck, and there may be some glaring bias issues, I only know it sounds good on the lowly Luxman, and it was a dolby C NR recording

And if everyone could take a pic of it with something you like, would be even nicer*Hi5*

This is just a project for fun,

Enjoy! Craig

What music is on it?

It's all 80's dance/club music on this one, nothing too offensive to most ears, more of a booty shakin', foot tapping kind of music. There is a bonus mix on side B that a DJ buddy recorded on RtR with a mixer and 3 TT's spinning 3 songs at once, and in and out of, wicked and very hard to do properly without losing the jam completely. He had the tape put on vinyl at a studio (I've still got a couple LP's of his work) it's all for fun, and it's all I've got to offer at the moment, until I find a Blank tape to start, closer652 said he'd start one in the theme of the OP, tape something on it and pass it on, to go along with mine!

That's the cool one, all the stuff THers share that they like.Pot Luck! That's why I wanted to start it in Europe, they have so much nice music we don't hear over here often*Hi5*

I did kind of barge in on getting this started, but, someone had to get it going, to the OP, you ok with this?

I listened to Stuwee's tape. I was curious how the MA-XG sounds in my system. I popped it to my Aiwa AD-F800 and sit back. It did not sound very good, it was like dubbed from another tape. I even asked stuwee what the sources of this recording was.

Then I hooked my Pio CT-S530 and miracle happened. The sound was crystal clear, bass and highs were fantastic, the whole recording had a wider stage. I must get a MA-XG and try recording (I do have some MA-X, and my Pio loves them). Let me add that both decks' heads and paths were cleaned before playing.

Probably the head alignment of my Pio was closer to the Stuwee's deck. This is not the first case that tapes sound much better on my Pio. I like the Aiwa's fine bias for recording, but it looks like CT-S530 will get back to the rig, as a primary recording/playback deck. (I hope a Yamaha owner will share experiences with this tape and his deck's play trim function.)

The music was dance music, as stuwee described. I wished I had the opportunity to evaluate a good acoustic guitar, female singing or classical music with this tape.

I thank again to stuwster who started this *check* and looking forward reading other comments. Please see my pic here:

The tape (with the "record your own stuff" tape) will leave this town on Tuesday, heading for England.
